H3N8 Flu is for the Dogs
Not only do we need to worry about the regular flu and the new H1N1 flu, we should also be concerned about the H3N8 flu for man’s best friend.
The H3N8 flu has been around for decades and doesn’t affect humans. But it recently jumped species from horses to dogs and is now threatening dogs everywhere.
“This disease is incredibly contagious,” said Dr. David Bessler, senior emergency clinician at NYC Veterinary Specialists. “Virtually every dog exposed to the virus will become infected. It’s that contagious.”
